Pastor's Pen

The Apostle Peter had previously been so
afraid of acknowledging Jesus Christ
before men that he had even denied
knowing Him before a young girl. Yet
after being restored by Christ and
empowered by the Holy Spirit- Peter
became bold as a lion for
Christ. Proverbs 28:1 says, “The wicked
man flees though no one pursues, but the
righteous are as bold as a lion.”
Do you wonder if you could be as bold as
Peter? Do you feel too untrained or timid
to be a witness for God? If you’ll spend
time getting to know Jesus, He will
empower you to impress others with
Himself. Boldness for Christ comes from
knowing Christ.
It was the Apostle Paul who said
in Romans 1:16-17, “I am not ashamed
of the gospel, because it is the power of
God for the salvation of everyone who
believes: first for the Jew, then for the
Gentile.  17 For in the gospel a
righteousness from God is revealed, a
righteousness that is by faith from first to
last, just as it is written: “The righteous
will live by faith.”
Beloved, as Charles Spurgeon said,
instead of being, “Brave for the world and
cowardly towards Christ,” may we, “Live
bravely for him who died lovingly for
you.” Beloved: Be Brave!
