The Word of Grace Devotion for December 14, 2020
Worthy Is The Lamb! Revelation 5:11-14, “Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12 In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” 13Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!” 14The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.” Beloved, we all know that Christmas is about Jesus. Christmas is centered on God becoming a man to die for the sins of the world. It centers on His birth, the incarnation, which revealed God’s heart for mankind; and His willingness to give His all for us. What is our response? Revelation 5:11-14 captures our response. We, like they, are to worship the Lord saying, “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” Beloved, my prayer for you and myself is that we would take some time out of this crazy world and this crazy time and worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Maybe we can take some time each morning in quiet solitude to thank Him for His goodness and our salvation. Maybe we can worship Him by serving or blessing someone who could not possibly repay us in anyway. The idea is simply that we come back to a heart of worship for our Lord. We need to get ready because there will be a whole lot of worship going on in heaven! I pray that you will have a blessed and worshipful week! I love you and I will be praying for you! In Him, Pastor Joe
