Reap In Joy

Psalm 126:5-6, “Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy. 6He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him.” NKJV

Beloved for many 2020 has been a year of sowing of tears. Loss of employment, illness, COVID restrictions and such has led to insecurity, fear, worry and much sowing in tears. Lives have been taken away and others have been greatly diminished. It has been a year of sowing in tears.

The same was true for the Israelites who suffered in Babylon under the judgment of God. They had been removed from their homeland because of their disobedience and were yearning to return home. They were sowing in tears.

But alas, hope was on the horizon. The promise was given, “Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him.” The Israelites were given the promise that they would one day return home and be filled with joy! Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy!

My prayer is that what was true for the Israelites may it also become true for us. 2020 has been a hard year of sowing in tears. But 2021 offers us hope. Hope that we will overcome and that what had been sown in tears will return in joy! This is my hope and my prayer. May we, come again with rejoicing, bringing our sheaves with us!

I pray that you will have a blessed week! I love you and will pray for you!

Praying for a joy filled 2021!

In Him,

Pastor Joe

Beloved, we are soon to once again celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the human Son of man and the divine Son of God. He is one hundred percent human and one hundred percent God.

While there were many people instrumental in the birth of Christ, this morning we will look at His birth through the eyes of Joseph, His legal father. There is not too much known about the man who would care for Christ as He grew up. We know that Joseph was possibly a carpenter but most importantly we know that he was a righteous man who did the right thing.

When others would have ran away from a responsibility that was not even their own, Joseph stood steadfast and remained faithful to the end. We can learn much from his character and apply his attributes of faithfulness, purity, and perseverance to our own lives.

May you have a Blessed Christmas week and may Christ always be at the center of your lives!

P.S. Come back this evening as we look at the birth of Christ through the Gospel of Luke!
