As Far as The East Is From the West
Psalm 103:12, “He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.”
Beloved, have you wondered what happens to our sins after we have confessed them? Psalm 103:12 says that the Lord, “has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.” This is another way of saying that once we have confessed and repented of our sin that the Lord has totally separated us from our sin.
First we must confess (agree that our actions are sinful) and repent (turn away from our sin, literally do a 180 turn) from our sin. What happens next is found in 1 John 1:9, which says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” Yes, our sins will be forgiven!
Unfortunately, after confessing and repenting of our sin it may sometimes feel as though we still have our sin. Satan tries to fool us to believe that our sins are not really forgiven, so we must learn to stand on God’s Word to receive God’s forgiveness.
We must remember that God’s grace is so great that it can cleanse the sinner from his sin so that he/she initially becomes a child of God and that even when we later stumble, we can be forgiven still.
Beloved, here are a couple of other verses, which speak of God’s forgiveness:
Isaiah 43:25- “I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.”
Acts 3:19, “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.”
Beloved, my prayer for you is that you would ask God to forgive you of all your sin and then live in that forgiveness. May His grace and mercy flood your heart as He, “removes your sins as far from us as the east is from the west, “ and “remembers them no more!”
I pray that you will have a blessed week! I love you and I will be praying for you!
