"Do Not Be Afraid, Only Believe!" Mark 5:35-36.,Word of Grace Devotion with Pastor Joe Marquez2/3/2015 THE WORD OF GRACE DEVOTION for the week of February 2, 2015
Do Not Be Afraid, Only Believe! MARK 5:35-36, “While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s housewho said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” 36As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” Beloved, you may be facing a situation today that requires great faith. There may be relationships in your life that need the healing touch of Jesus. He can heal them. You may be facing a health crisis or a financial crisis or some other crisis, once again Jesus can heal and help you. In Mark 5 we learn of a synagogue ruler by the name of Jarius who had a very sick daughter. He had come to Jesus for help but as Jesus went to see the little girl, “some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” It seemed like a hopeless situation but Jesus was still willing to go see the little girl. Fortunately for us, nothing is impossible for God, nothing! He can bring the wicked to their knees and breathe life into the dead. He can take the situations that we find ourselves in and bring healing and restoration and growth. Beloved, so often we face our fears and grow weary, when what we need to do is take them to Jesus. Can you hear Jesus telling you, “Do not be afraid, only believe!” 1 John 4:18 says, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” Beloved, as you face the various struggles in your life, place them into the hands of your loving Savior and trust Him to work. Though you may not have full confidence you can still respond to Christ as the father of one child said in Mark 9:24- “Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” Beloved, I pray that you will have a blessed week. I love you and I will be praying for you! In His Strong Love- Pastor Joe
