"Giving to the Lord" Matthew 19:27-30 on this week's Word of Grace Devotion with Pastor Joe Marquez.1/29/2018 The Word of Grace Devotion for The Week of January 29, 2018
Giving To The Lord: Matthew 19:27-30, "Then Peter said in reply, “See, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?” 28 Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of Man will sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name's sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life. 30But many who are first will be last, and the last first." ESV Good morning Beloved! This morning, as I was reading, the Lord spoke to me a familiar passage. Sometimes it feels as if we give, give, give and get nothing in return. The apostle Peter understood this as he said to Jesus, “See, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?” So what is the truth? The truth is that you can never out give God. Beloved, if you give of your time, your talent and your treasure to the Lord and His work- you can never out give Him. He will always bless you beyond measure! In Matthew 19:28-30, Jesus outlines some of those blessings, “Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of Man will sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name's sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life. 30But many who are first will be last, and the last first.” Jim Elliot, missionary, once said, “"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose." Beloved, I pray that you will have a blessed week! I love you and I will be praying for you! In Christ, Pastor Joe
